Advocacy:
TAEYC provides all members with important and timely information for child advocacy by monitoring legislation; networking with, and acting as a resource to, state departments and other public and private organizations. TAEYC sponsors a public forum at its annual conference each fall, where members can hear from and question legislative leaders and other officials regarding current early childhood issues. TAEYC provides an annual day-long training session for local AEYC representatives that includes:
- training in advocacy techniques
- networking opportunities with other organizations and agencies
- information regarding current legislative issues
- opportunities to discuss issues with state leaders
- opportunities to hear what local AEYC's statewide are accomplishing

Conferences:
TAEYC sponsors an annual fall conference which provides inpirational and educational experiences for parents and early childhood professionals. The conference is held on a rotating basis in Chattanooga, Memphis, Nashville, and Knoxville.
SECA sponsors an annual spring conference in one of the participating states. Outstanding leaders share information on current early childhood issues and trends.
NAEYC sponsors an annual conference in November. International speakers share information on current early childhood issues and trends.

Week of the Young Child
TAEYC coordinates the efforts of local AEYC's and acts as a resource agency to provide the public with information about the need for quality children's services. Local associations designate a week in April to celebrate. NAEYC provides information and resources for affiliates.
