Knox Area Association has had a busy month planning various training sessions. Monthly training sessions include: directors support, school age directors support, general membership meeting, school age providers meeting as well as shared space directors support. All are meeting with good attendance.
"Survivor Kit VI for Administrators" was held March 3rd. Four hours of training was provided. The presenters were Missy Kane, Kim Stuart, Mary Pegler, and Ken Pearson, EdD. The topics were Fitness, Staff Development, Positive Discipline and Germs…and more Germs.
We had our last two AYC meetings for the school year this month. On May 15th our Board Members presented their favorite stories and books for our General meeting. On May 22nd, Tammy Judd and Dianna Cornett did a fantastic job for our school age meeting on summer safety for school agers. On this night the award was given for the “Seth-Ramsey Crabtree” special needs worker of the year. Along with the “Lucy Biggs” child care worker of the year and the “community service” award. “Survivor Kit VII for Administrators” was held Saturday June 2. Four hours of training were offered for Directors and Administrators.
The 2001 TAEYC Conference committees are all hard at work planning for the October 4-6th conference in Gatlinburg. The theme this year will be “Our World, Our Children.” Lots of exciting sessions are planned. We anticipate a great turn out of participants.
